JETTY ROAD SIGNS WITH ON RAMP RECORDS

(Nashville, TN) March 17, 2011 – One of Canada’s premiere country music record labels has signed Australian country group Jetty Road to its impressive roster of artists. On Ramp is now the exclusive label representative for Jetty Road in Canada – overseeing the group’s distribution with EMI Canada and supporting the band’s ongoing development.
For the past three years, Australia’s “Country Group of the Year” (2010 CMA Australia), has called Canada its ‘second home’. In 2010, the band toured relentlessly across the ‘Canadian Outback’- stopping at every radio station en route to major country music festivals and high-profile showcases (Havelock Jamboree, Capitol Hoedown, CCMA Kick-Off, BCCMAs and others). Last summer, the band’s first single, “Let it Out”, off the new album Far Away Places cracked the Top 50 on the Mediabase country chart and was added to close to 60 radio stations across Canada.
With a number of tracks on Far Away Places featuring co-writes with Canadian country superstars including Jason McCoy, Kathleen Higgins and more, Jetty Road hopes to build on its Canadian radio presence. The new album also features a co-write and duet with George Canyon – Canada’s most played Canadian country music artist for the past two years. Listen for a new single release in late-spring followed by the album in early summer.
“Jetty Road’s development in Canada has been remarkable,” notes On Ramp Records President, Louis O’Reilly. “The group has really captured the interest of Canadian country music industry. The new songs from the Far Away Places are outstanding! Couple that with the band’s impressive work ethic and I think you’ll be hearing a lot more about Jetty Road in 2011.”
Far Away Places was recorded and produced in Vancouver by Canadian producer, Paul Shatto. In addition to working with a Canadian producer in a Canadian studio (The Factory), the band also hired Canadian country session players Dennis Marcenko (bass), Jerry Adolphe (drums), Jay Buettner (session guitar) and Mike Little (Hammond organ) to play on the new album.
“We love Canada!” exclaims Jetty Road lead singer, Paula Bowman. “We are so grateful to all our fans, Canadian country radio and everyone who has supported us in Canada. We look forward to returning for our summer tour.” To date, the band has landed main stage slots at Big Valley Jamboree, The Cavendish Beach Music Festival, Merritt Mountain Music Festival and others soon to be announced.
Based in Nashville, On Ramp Records represents some of the biggest names in Canadian country music including, Victoria Banks, Shane Yellowbird and Jaydee Bixby. With the signing of Jetty Road, On Ramp Records’ first non-Canadian act, the label continues to expand its influence and reach around the world.
